The Uyghur People
China/Tibet Border

AND

Impressions of Tibet

PHOTOGRAPHS BY

Alison Baxter Marlow

At the age of 18, Ali helped organize and lead an expedition into a remote region of China, making the team the first Westerners to explore the area.
Following this, she embarked on a six-week journey hitchhiking through Tibet and visiting the monasteries there. She later spent a semester in Nepal at the university, living with a local family.
It is this journey that is captured in the images in this show.
